    Mutual investment is a phenomenon interfering in all parts of the economy. This diploma thesis deals with the area of mutual investment in the Czech Republic It is divided info seven chapters. The first chapter is meant to be an introduction to the theory of mutual investment The second chapter describes the history of mutual investment in Europe, the United States of America, and in the Czech Republic. The third chapter deals with the legislation of the mutual investment in the Czech Republic. The farther chapters, the fourth, fifth, and sixth, are focused on the funds working in the Czech Republic, and on their specifications. The seventh and final chapter identities the supervision of the financial markets in the Czech Republic, both legal and selfregulative authorities. The aim of the diploma thesis is to provide a view on the basic issues of the mutual inestment in the Czech Republic.
