As there had been no complex information on contentment and requests of the canteen customers available, it was necessary to do an extensive marketing research on this topic. The aim of the thesis was to map the current state, analyze particular elements of the marketing mix, and on the basis of both the analysis and questionnaire investigation present a set of measures to be taken to increase customers{\crq} contentment. The thesis is divided into six main parts. The first part deals with the basic characteristics of the Technical University Students{\crq} Canteen and with its activities. The input analysis follows, which describes the marketing surroundings of the canteen and particular elements of the marketing mix. On the basis of the established knowledge, SWOT analysis is made, which is the starting point for setting research aims and for the questionnaire formation. The third part deals with the theory of marketing research, in the fourth part the research is realized. A separate chapter is devoted to the presentation of the research results via graphs, charts and comments. The last part summarizes the research results and presents a survey of arising recommendations for the management of Students Hostels and Canteens.
