- ItemAnalysis of sliver opening on the open-end rotor spinning machine(1995-01-01) Ursíny, Petr; Safar, V.; Mägel, MatthiasStudies relating to the production of rotor open-end-spun cotton yarns indicate that a performance increase in rotor spinning technology and the production of finer yarns place stringent demands on feed sliver quality and the control of all part processes. A low level of yarn irregularity is favoured by the formation of uniform fibre flow in the opening roller zone. The design of the feed roller/press plate system must ensure minimum fibre dwell time scatter in the combing-out zone, assuming constant fibre length. The opening roller clothing parameters also affect the fibre arrangement in the fibre flow transferred to the opening roller.
- ItemNew findings relating to stability of the OE rotor spinning process(1995-01-01) Ursíny, Petr; Mägel, MatthiasAn increase in rotor open-end spinning machine capacity and measures for a higher yarn spinning limit are always measured against the machine efficiency which is significantly affected by yarn breakages and their elimination. Yarn breakage frequency increases with an increase in rotor speed, reduced yarn twist and increasing yarn count. In the most unfavourable circumstances this can preclude an increase in the effective production rate or impair the yarn quality to an inadmissable extent. It is therefore important to investigate the demands on yarn strength resulting from sliver quality and rotor spinning parameters in relation to yarn breakage frequency. Studies on polyester rotor open-end-spun yarns are presented.
- ItemThe sliver machine - a means for reducing the number of stages in sliver production(1994-01-01) Ursíny, Petr; Mägel, MatthiasA description is given of the machine - a carding machine with stationary flats and a very potential for levelling long-term and short-term irregularities - is discussed in relation to rotor open-end spinning. The satisfactory standard of uniformity produced by the sliver machine guarantees good medium-and long-term uniformity in rotor open-end-spun cotton yarns. The sliver machine produces a cotton sliver suitable for spinning if a suitable means for removing trash is incorporated in the rotor spinning machine. Replacing the flat card, breaker and finisher drawframe stages is therefore an acceptable way of reducing the number of operations in sliver production for rotor open-end spinning.
