Every company is searching for the most suitable markets for their products, considering all opportunities and risks involved and try to declare, which product would suit the target market best. Therefore, the first part of the study is covering particular international business theories and the competitiveness theory of the company. Afterwards, using PEST, Porters five forces, SWOT and BCG matrix, the current stage of the competitive environment of the company and its position on the czech motorcycle market is analyzed. Although, some people claim, the brand JAWA has no future anymore, there is big opportunity on the Russian market, where JAWA could possibly succeed. The 350 model portfolio, especially model Tramp 350, which unfortunately does not fulfill the EU emission standards anymore and therefore cannot be sold in European union, has big potential to find its customers in the eastern part of Russia. Thanks to its universality and nearly maintenance-free care this model is more suitable for the demanding eastern conditions than other competing products.
- ItemCritical Reflection on Selected Issues Connected with Economic Terminology(Technická Univerzita v Liberci, ) Kraft, Jiří; Ekonomická fakultaClear and unambiguous categories and concepts defined in accordance with generally accepted epistemological principles are some of the cornerstones of each scientific discipline. The objective of this paper is to critically highlight selected problems related to the creation and use of categories and concepts and their symbols in economics. The paper describes in examples the inconsistent use of symbols (the income example), the unsystematic use of concepts (the labour force example) and, in particular, the creation and use of ambiguously defined categories or concepts in a situation where economic science already has an established concept for the reality concerned (the rent example). Adequate methods are chosen for an article of this type. The initial method is desk research, followed by analysis, deduction, induction and exploration. In addition to the actual critical description of the problems, an appropriate solution is proposed to the problem presented in each example. However, the paper also makes references to links with other economic disciplines and the current socio-economic reality. The purpose of the presented critical reflection on selected issues related to economic terminology is, on the one hand, to achieve greater understanding in scientific communication and, on the other hand, to facilitate educational impact, but also to find a common ground between academics and practitioners to the extent that social practice is intertwined with economic theory.
- ItemEconomic context of european subsidies and their impact on regional economic disparities on the example of the Czech republic(Technical university of Liberec, Czech Republic, 2017-06-15) Brzáková, Kristýna; Kraft, Jiří; Ekonomická fakultaThis paper presents the theoretical perspectives of economic trends in view on subsidies to investment and ask whether the allocated subsidy of ESI, specifically in the Czech Republic, are substantiated in these economic theories. This article aims to show the relationship between the amounts drawn from the selected operational program of ESI funds and per capita income level in various regions NUTS 3 during 2007-2015 in the Czech Republic. For the purpose of achieving the set goals time series analysis of variables and correlation analysis using Pearson correlation coefficient have been used. Time series data has been controlled by Durbin-Watson test of autocorrelation. Results of theoretical research brought a positive response that subsidies should positively affect the economic level of the population and should help lagging EU Member States and regions within those Member States in their economic growth. The results of empirical research showed that the correlation relationship of the amount of EU subsidies paid to the regions in the Czech Republic and the level of income cannot be clearly demonstrated. Significant correlation has been found in few of regions. However, in most cases dependence has not been demonstrated, thus, correlation between income level and amount of ESI funds from EU is not submitted. It can be concluded that in the short term, the level of per capita income in the region is getting closer to the most developed region of the City of Prague and therefore lagging regions of the country get economically closer. However, this fact cannot be clearly attributed to the amounts allocated through ESI subsidies in various regions of the Czech Republic.
- ItemEconomics as a social science even in the 21st century?(Technická Univerzita v Liberci, 2013-08) Kraft, Jiří; Ekonomická fakultaScientific disciplines undergo development in time. In case of economics, the development is so essential that there is a strong need to exclude it from the category of social sciences, where it had been placed in the past, as well as the creation of an independent group of economic sciences beside the natural and technical sciences. The need to strike out the economic sciences can be proved by a wide range of facts including the timeless validity of several economic principles. As practical illustration the functioning of the capital market has been chosen which can give the evidence that the economic reality provides a limited space to individuals for their subjective decisions unlike as in the case of social sciences thus changing many effects into fatal ones similar to the situation in natural sciences. A great attention has been paid to the creation of an independent group of economic sciences because due to the existing classification of economics as a social science particular subject of the economic life deduce inadequate expectations caused by the improper assumption of possible subjective influences on the economic development. At the same time, it must be emphasized that it is not reasonable to doubt existing relationships between economic and social sciences. On the other hand, links of economic sciences to natural sciences cannot be neglected either. Despite this fact the economic sciences cannot be identified with none of these groups, and this statement refers also to technical sciences. In terms of its subject the economic sciences are so specific for the time being that it is meaningful to separate them from the social sciences, not assign them to any scientific group, and create a new group of economic sciences.
