    This bachelor thesis provides an overview of the risks associated with rock climbing.The thesis is divided into two parts: the first describes the creation and development of freeclimbing, the history of belay techniques, familiarization with various disciplines andclassifications, and basic equipment. The second deals with a description of accidents andcasualties associated with the sport. Materials provided by the Czech MountaineeringAssociation (CHS) support the claims found within. This body of work concludes with waysto avoid making mistakes when climbing.
