    Porovnání materiálových vlastností ocelí používaných pro nožířské účely

    The work deals with a utilization of tool steels for the production of blades for knifes and with a comparison of characteristics of selected types of steel. There exist no standard measures and processes to judge the quality of blades for the production of knifes. This fact was the impulse for this work. Tool steels were chosen for this work. The reason is that they may posses the most suitable mechanical characteristics necessary for the production of blades and cutting instruments in general. The aim of this work is to find a comprehensive criterion for mutual comparison of tested steels, possibly also to choose suitable tests for the comparison. The theoretical part is divided into three sections. The first one deals with characteristics of tool steels, with their subdivision and utilization. The second section is devoted to the heat-treatment suitable for the processing of knife blades and the third one treats the mechanical tests. The experimental part contains the preparation of samples, their testing and evaluation of mechanical characteristics of individual steels. The test samples have undergone the test by tension and impact. Further the temper has been measured and the test of cutting efficiency performed. Both standard and specific test of measuring knife blades have been realized. Particular test have been evaluated and the resulting values have been recorded into the tables and charts. Methods suitable for comprehensive evaluation have been chosen at the conclusion. The assessment of availability of steels and their prices has been chosen as a complementary criterion.
