    The diploma thesis deals with non-profit organizations focused on education. The first part is focused on the interpretation of important terms, general characteristics, legal provisions, typology and determination of functions of non-profit organizations. The diploma thesis also deals with the definition of civil society, its various concepts and its history in Czech lands. Then the thesis introduces education as a public benefit aim, describes its legal provision and the activity sphere of non-profit organizations focused on education and also the issues of their financing. The final part of the thesis provides the analysis of activity results of the chosen non-profit organization in terms of their function, utility and target groups.
