    The dissertation deals with assessing a firm and its specificities. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the firm as an object of assessing, and stimulations for a firm assessing. Further, it explains market, internal and objective firm value as possible approaches to assessing. The conclusion of the first chapter is addressed to subjects which can assess and the procedure of working out the assessment. The second part deals with valuation of a firm by means of financial and strategic analysis. The third part characterises basic methods of firm assessing. The emphasis is put on proprietorial and revenues methods. Assessment of a fictive firm VPTZ Ltd., which produces plastic technological systems, is realized in the last fourth part. The firm is assessed by three chosen methods, attained results are summarized and a method for the final firm value formulation is chosen.
