dc.description.abstract | Studies relating to the production of rotor open-end-spun cotton yarns indicate that a performance increase in rotor spinning technology and the production of finer yarns place stringent demands on feed sliver quality and the control of all part processes. A low level of yarn irregularity is favoured by the formation of uniform fibre flow in the opening roller zone. The design of the feed roller/press plate system must ensure minimum fibre dwell time scatter in the combing-out zone, assuming constant fibre length. The opening roller clothing parameters also affect the fibre arrangement in the fibre flow transferred to the opening roller. | en |
