dc.description.abstract | The actual trend in the automotive industry is to discover electric vehicles and bring them to the market in a few years. There are some pilot products in electric cars production and still a lot of open questions connected with this new type of power source for vehicles. This article tries to answer at least to questions related to pollution and ecology. The comparative study and analysis of diesel engine vehicles and electric engine vehicles are made. The analysis is focused on an overall car production emission trace and lifetime emission trace. The global warming potential is calculated for gasoline/diesel engine car and comparable electrical engine car. The study is focused on vehicles driven in the Czech Republic. The vehicle operation area/country is an important factor in all emission calculation because electric car emissions depend on the type of power plant primary source and highlight the need for pollution friendly power sources. | cs |
