    Kateřinky - paměť industriálního dědictví

    The aim of my bachelor's thesis, focusing on the issues of brownfields, was mapping of all the neglected areas in Kateřinky-neighbourghood. In initial, methodical part I portrays the issues of brownfields in the Czech Republic, explained the terminology and set-up a basic typology. Searching the possible sources of funding brownfields restoration amemo (note) was made with the evidence how difficult is to gain these funds. The second chapter is devoted to the history of Kateřinky-neighbourghood and community development since its beginning in 1608. Details of the textile plants historical development are described also in the charter two. The next section deals with the current state of 12 brownfields objects. These are nine factory buildings and three residential houses. Today, most of them are in very degrading state, some of them has no future other than demolition. Still, I tried to suggest any possible future use for each of these devastated building and lands. The last chapter is the interpretation of the questionnaire, which I prepared for the inhabitants of the Kateřinky-neighbourghood. Attachments are photos of brownfields and their spatial distribution in Kateřinky-neighbourghood.
