- ItemEffect of Hexamethyldisiloxane (HMDSO)/Nitrogen Plasma Polymerisation on the Anti Felting and Dyeability of Wool Fabric(Inst Chemical Fibres, 2014-01-01) Shahidi, Sheila; Ghoranneviss, Mahmood; Wiener, Jakub; Moazzenchi, Bahareh; Mortazavi, HamidehThis work is focused on the characterisation of the physical and surface properties of plasma coated wool fabric. A thin film was deposited on wool fabric samples by means of the plasma polymerisation of hexamethyldisiloxane (HMDSO) and differences between such plasma-treated and untreated fabrics were evaluated. The films deposited were characterised by means of Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Also the surface morphology of samples was studied using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Hydrophobic properties of the samples were tested using the water drop test. The results show that by plasma polymerisation, hydrophobic properties of the wool surface change to super hydrophobic. The main aim of the HMDSO/N2 plasma polymerisation of wool fabrics is to improve anti felting properties and dyeing behaviour.
- ItemMultilayer assembly for protection against laser light(2020-02-01) Kašparová, Marie; Wiener, Jakub; Shahidi, SheilaThe influence of multilayer assembly on protection against infrared laser light was investigated. Multilayer assembly was exposed to a pulsed laser device, Marcatex 150 Flexi, with wavelength of 10.6 μm. Marking Speed [bits.ms–1] is the influenced parameter of laser irradiation. It presents the speed of burning. Multilayer assembly was consisted of three layers of textile materials. The first layer was top layer made of aramid, glass or Basalt fabric. The second layer is middle layer made of wool fabric. The third layer is bottom layer made of cotton fabric. Temperature of multilayer assembly was measured on the top and bottom layer of sample by contactless thermometer. Multilayer assembly was analysed by scanning electron microscopy before and after laser irradiation. The temperature of the bottom layer of multilayer assembly consist of aramid-wool-cotton was 74 °C at marking speed of 40 bits.ms–1. It is the lowest temperature. It can be concluded that the multilayer assembly containing aramid-wool-cotton provided the best protection against laser irradiation.

- ItemWOUND DRESSING WITH TEXTILE DRESSING APPROACH: A REVIEW(Technical University of Liberec, ) Shahidi, Sheila; Moazzenhi, Bahareh; Kalahroodi, Hosseini Kimiasadat; Mongkholrattanasit, Rattanaphol; Technická univerzita v LiberciTo help healing, protect and care the wound from additional damage, a sterile dressing is applied to wound and injured area. Wound dressing can be a sterile pad or compress that directly contact with the wound area. Nowadays, different models of wound dressings are used in the medical field. In this review paper different wound dressings and efforts made on the textile based wound dressings discussed.
