- ItemSyndrom týraného, zneužívaného a zanedbávaného dítěte(Technická Univerzita v Liberci, 2010) Rašková, Jana; Kadavá, JanaThis Bachelor?s thesis is dealing with issues of child abuse and neglect. The work was split into two key areas, one theoretical and one practical. The theoretical part is identifying issues of child abuse and neglect, by processing literature reference, describing the causes of the CAN syndrome, characterised by its various forms, explaining importance of the role of a social worker, focusing on prevention of this phenomenon and the subsequent forms of assistance to the affected children. The practical part was conducted using qualitative research analysis of the cases of seven children with CAN syndrome from the Děčín region. Three of these case studies have been extended by an interview, observation and sentence completion, which helped to identify, if the child abuse or neglect in the families still occurs. By analysing these case studies it was being further verified, whether the findings and theoretical knowledge of these issues reflect these real cases, as they are described in expert publications and as implicated in the theoretical part of this thesis. The results has shown that theoretical outcome and findings about the CAN syndrome as described in expert publications, actually occur in the specific cases described in this work. This thesis could be beneficial to all those that are not unsympathetic to the issues of battered, abused and neglected children and can help search for suitable ways and procedures to eliminate, reduce and most of all to prevent this negative phenomenon
