    The work puts mind to the landscapes of Liberec region, their physical/cultural features, typology and land cover. It describes natural characteristics of them, such as geology, geomorfology, waters, soil, biota or climate. It also shows human influence on its today´s scape, how exploitation of mineral resources, forestry, agriculture, increasing intensity of traffic, fragmentation of landscape and industry change the former natural landscapes. It also deals with natural protection of landscapes closed to natural structures and processes so far. These cultural landscapes of the region are divided into specific groups and in the lower rank again divided furthermore into types of landscape, primarily according to their land cover. Nevertheless, this work constitutes not only the ways of human influences upon the landscape but also how the cultural landscapes act upon the people.
