- ItemAnalýza teplot v ozubení pastorku stálého převodu(Technická Univerzita v Liberci, 2016) Mazač, MartinThe thesis focuses on the measurement of pinion gear teeth temperature in an automobile gearbox. A test stand for gearbox loading and a gear teeth temperature measurement system were designed, constructed, and used for experimental investigations. The temperature inside multiple teeth of a rotating pinion gear is measured by embedded thermistors, and an optical method is used to transfer the signal from the shaft. Special software was written to facilitate operation, calibration and data processing. The setup was validated on a series of runs spanning different gears, rotating speeds, and power levels, the results of which are described and summarized.

- ItemBrightness Matching Experiments with Pulsed Light: Experiment Design(IEEE, 345 E 47TH ST, NEW YORK, NY 10017 USA, 2019) Kukačka, Leoš; Mach, Ondřej; Schreiber, Richard; Chmelařová, Michaela; Florianová, Lucie; Mazač, Martin; Dupuis, PascalThe paper describes the experiment setup for performing the brightness matching experiments with pulsed and steady light. The frame is revising and confirming the Talbot Plateau (TP) law for light with high bandwidth. The paper further describes other details of the experiment procedure. Experiments are designed for pulses at 100 Hz with 25 % duty cycle. The light levels are in the photopic range. First experiment results are shown and evaluated. It is concluded that the TP law cannot be disproved.
- ItemOn-road exhaust emissions from an ordinary gasoline engine operating on E-85(Technická Univerzita v Liberci, 2012) Vojtíšek, Michal; Mazač, Martin; Laurin, JosefBioethanol, in the form of E-85 (fuel containing 85 % of ethanol mixed with 15 % of gasoline and various additives), is typically used in "Flexible Fuel Vehicles". In the Czech Republic, due to its favorable price, it is also used, as E-85 or mixed with gasoline, in ordinary engines without any modifications or adjustments. In this study, an older Škoda Felicia car with fuel-injected spark ignition engine with a three-way catalyst was operated alternately on gasoline and on E-85 on a hilly urban and rural route. Exhaust emissions of carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and total particulate matter (PM) mass and length were measured with a portable, on-board monitoring system. Multiple runs were made on each fuel to verify test-to-test repeatability. The engine control unit has remarkably well adapted to E-85 by increasing the fuel injector pulse width, so that the engine operated mostly at stoichiometric ratio on both gasoline and E-85. Operation on E-85 has resulted, compared to gasoline, in about 60 % lower emissions of CO, three times higher emissions of NOx, comparable emissions of HC, slightly higher particulate mass, and slightly lower total particle length.
- ItemZařízení na měření brzdných momentů na setrvačníkovém stroji(Technická Univerzita v Liberci, 2009) Mazač, Martin; Němeček, PavelThis diploma thesis deals with possibilities of braking torque measurement. This torque is produced by automotive brakes, which are tested on the flywheel machine, simulating vehicle inertial forces during braking. This work is specially focused on precise measurement of residual braking torque, rising after brake release from the main running condition and subsequent free spinning of braked component (disc, drum). The main aim of diploma thesis is redesign of current flywheel machine in the TRW Jablonec Company. The new braking torque (forces) value scanning system is proposed.
