- ItemEVOLUTIONARY ANALYSIS OF AUTONOMOUS AGRICULTURAL VEHICLES(CZECH UNIVERSITY LIFE SCIENCES PRAGUE, DEPT SYSTEMS ENG, KAMYCKA 129, PRAGUE 6 165 21, CZECH REPUBLIC, 2019-01-01) Mašín, IvanThe article is focused on application of evolution trends theory in the autonomous agricultural vehicles field. Trends of engineering systems evolution describe natural transitions of the engineering system from one state to another, and are generally valid for all engineering disciplines. Knowledge of these trends can more accurately predict the problems associated with the design of new technologies in the agriculture and thus increases the probability of success of the chosen solution.
- ItemFinite element method model of the mechanical behaviour of Jatropha curcas L. bulk seeds under compression loading: Study and 2D modelling of the damage to seeds(Academic Press Inc Elsevier Science, 2014-01-01) Petrů, Michal; Novák, Ondřej; Herák, David; Mašín, Ivan; Lepšík, Petr; Hrabě, PetrThis article is focused on comprehensive research of a pressing process ofJatropha curcas L. bulk seeds during linear compression. Compression experiments were performed and the strain and brittle fracturing of the seeds visualised. The mechanical behaviour and stress distribution at the volumetric strain of bulk seeds in pressing cylinders and semi-cylinders with diameters of 60, 80 and 100 mm were described by 2D FEM models. It has been determined that the study of nonlinear visco-elastic and plastic strain seed interactions and the damage and crack growth in such seeds can be significantly improved through computer simulations using an explicit FEM algorithm. In this study, the compressibility of ripe J. curcas L. bulk seeds was analysed and compared depending on the volume strain and energy performance of the linear pressing process. Empirical equations and differential deformation theory describing the seeds interacting beyond the oil point were reported. In addition, the issue of contact theory in numerical modelling of the point contact of interacting seeds was also described. Statistical results showed that the 2D FEM model can be used to study the volumetric strain, stress and damage of J. curcas L. bulk seeds. These studies suggest that FEM models may be considered an important tool to assess the energy performance of the pressing process of J. curcas bulk seeds and can provide valuable information for the design and optimisation of pressing equipment. - ItemIncreasing of precision technology of glass sorting based on very fast reconfigurable image processing(2019-08-13) Krčmařík, David; Petrů, Michal; Mašín, IvanThe paper deals with a method and technology for increasing of precision sorting of transparent materials – glass. The recycled glass is a valuable material which is necessary as an ingredient in the process of glass manufacturing. We propose a very fast industrial device based on FPGA (field-programmable gate array) image processing along with a novel algorithm for a robust real-time treatment of acquired data. The system consists from a line-scan camera with fast CameraLink interface, FPGA processing, battery of valves propelled via pneumatics and nozzle block. Very important part of the system is a background configuration software enables precise assessment of required limits as inputs to FPGA processing. The overall performance is discussed from the perspective of laboratory and industrial tests. The proposed FPGA image processing can be utilized for further future enhancements in the field of precise sorting of glass with stuck labels on it. The results give very good performance even in the industrial environment with a lot of dust and dirt and hence the glass does not need to be extensively cleaned.
- ItemNEW APPROACH TO SOLVING MATHEMATICAL EQUATION FOR DAMPED OSCILLATIONS BY SLIDING (COULOMB) FRICTION AT THE KARAKURI MECHANISM(2018-01-01) Riegr, Tomáš; Mašín, IvanCalculation of the time course and speed of the oscillation motion dampened by centripetal force typically represented by sliding friction is rather complicated mathematical task, which is unnecessary to solve repeatedly for individual stages of the given oscillations until they are completely subdued. The fact that said damping friction force changes its direction of action depending on the direction of movement of the mechanism considerably complicates given solution. To solve the motion equation of such a mechanism, the mathematical software MAPLE using the SIGNUM function is being used.
