- ItemChemické rozbory PVC hydroizolačních fólií(Technická Univerzita v Liberci, 2010) Zach, Petr; Müllerová, JanaThis diploma thesis focuses on the experiment to find any system which canbuild a water-proofing PVC foils database, in other words, the database of their IRspectrums, chromaticity coordinates and filler content which can help to determinebackground of an unknown sample, or to judge the reasons that lead to degradation ofinsulation properties. According this database would be possible to predict properties ofa new foil on condition that its composition is the same as composition of another foil ifits characteristics are known several years. The aim of this diploma thesis is an effort todiscover the way to a relatively easy, moreover, fast and not so expensive method whichcould analyse these types of foils and to detect the question why insulation propertiesfailure happened, or to predicate characteristics of a new foil according informationfrom database.

- ItemThe influence of preparation conditions on porous SiO2 structure studied by FTIR spectroscopy(Technical university of Liberec, Czech Republic, 2007) Pagáčová, Jana; Plško, Alfonz; Staňová, Iveta; Jóna, Eugen; Müllerová, Jana; Exnar, Petr; Lukáč, Anton; Marčeková, LýdieSurface area, porosity, pore structure and ability to bind to other substances are very important properties in various applications of porous SiO2. The properties are largely dependent on SiO2 structure, which is influenced by its preparation. Porous SiO2 was prepared by coagulation of solutions of an alkali metal silicate. The influence of temperature and pH on the structure of porous SiO2 was studied by FTIR. It was found that the siloxane four-membered rings along with the expected six-membered rings occurred as basic structural units in all the prepared materials. An increase in pH leads to a significant decrease in the content of the four-membered rings and a decrease in the Si-OH/Si-O- ratio in the silica network. However, the relative amount of Si-OH groups increases. Temperature has no significant influence on the amount of different structural units.

There is thus an ever growing demand for designing materials that are both cytocompatible and resistant to biofilm formation as well as bacterial infections. Surface functionalized polyamides, such as Nylon 6, are widely used as biomaterial due to its strength, flexibility, toughness and cytocompatibility. The undertaken study is focused on the surface functionalization of Nylon 6 by reducing the surface with borane-tetrahydrofuran complex (BH3-THF), followed by grafting with poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether tosylate (mPEG-OTs) via a novel lithiation approach. The modified Nylon 6 surfaces were characterized by various techniques such as water contact angle (WCA) analysis, atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) to confirm the modification of Nylon 6 surface. Evaluation of bacterial adhesion on the pure and modified surface against biofilm active pathogenic bacterial strain: Staphylococcus aureus (S.A.) CCM 3953 was accomplished. The functionalized Nylon 6 surfaces showed significant resistance towards bacterial adhesion compared to pure Nylon 6.
- ItemNovel chapter in hybrid materials: One-pot synthesis of purely organosilane fibers(Elsevier Ltd, 2020-03) Holubová, Barbora; Máková, Veronika; Müllerová, Jana; Brus, Jiří; Havlíčková, Kristýna; Jenčová, Věra; Michalcová, Alena; Kulhánková, Johana; Řezanka, MichalDespite the extensive literature on organosilane hybrid materials, there are very few reports on the preparation of purely organosilane non-woven fibrous mats. Nevertheless, their use in various application fields may be of great importance regarding the global issue of polymer fibers and the toxicity of other compounds used so far in the composite polymer-organosilane fiber-manufacturing process. The greatest obstacle seems to be the supposed difficulty in the polymerization of organosilanes in a spinnable polymeric solution. In this work, we report the one-pot synthesis of electrospun organosilane fibers without any kinds of surfactants, low-molecular-weight polymeric gelators or spinnable polymers. The purely organosilane fibrous mats were prepared only via a suitable adjustment of the sol-gel processing parameters and were successfully produced an industrial electrospinning device, promising possible fabrication on a large scale. Moreover, the use of two differently-structured model benzene functionalized organoalkoxysilanes proves the possibility of designing a molecularly engineered material tailored to specific applications. These organosilane fibrous mats seem to be promising in various application fields, such as reusable catalysts, adsorption or conducting membranes or as novel biomaterials. This latter of these areas was preliminarily studied herein.
- ItemPhotochemically catalysed polymerisation of 3-trimethoxysilylpropyl methacrylate containing silver, copper and zinc ions(University of Chemistry and Technology, Faculty of Environmental Technology, 2018) Máková, Veronika; Špína, Michal; Müllerová, Jana; Exnar, PetrPhoto curable organic-inorganic monomers are currently generating much interest in many research groups worldwide due to their unique properties leading to a wide range of applications including electronics, energetics, medicine, etc. One of them, 3-trimethoxysilylpropylmethacrylate belongs to the class of such monomers having a wide range of relatively good mechanical, chemical and physical properties. Moreover, this monomer can be cured by different processes including heat treatment and light. Photochemically catalysed polymerisation of sol prepared from 3-trimethoxysilylpropylmethacrylate hybrid monomer and titanium tetraisopropoxide containing silver, copper and zinc ions was tested with two commercially available photoinitiators, a Darocur 1173 and an Irgacure 819. The aim of this study was to propose conditions for the effective polymerisation process leading to the maximal conversion of double bonds present in the organic part of the hybrid monomer and observe the potential effect of the ions. Particularly the copper ions by themselves and/or in combination with silver ions inside the hybrid matrix may influence the speed and conversion degree of the photochemically catalysed polymerisation processes. © 2018 University of Chemistry and Technology, Faculty of Environmental Technology.

- ItemSenior v ústavní péči(Technická Univerzita v Liberci, 2011) Müllerová, Jana; Stejskal, BohumilResumeThe topic of the thesis was the issue of seniors who use residential social services. The aim was to identify the reasons that lead the elderly to use residential social services. To verify if activation affects the adaptation process of the users at homes for the elderly. To learn how seniors spend their free time, and whether they use activation programs developed by the staff of the facility. The work was divided into two parts. The theoretical part using the compilation and presentation of expert sources to clarify concepts related to the topic, the aging process, aging, adaptation, and activation of seniors. This section also describes the social and psychological problems of aging, social services and their regulation, contribution to care, adjustment process, activation activities and leisure activities in each particular social facilities. The practical part dealt with the reasons for the use of institutional care, the actors in the process of adaptation and leisure facilities in the home for the elderly. Using interviews with the elderly we get a closer view to what helped them to adapt to new environments and how they spend their free time. The results showed that the assumption was confirmed, and resulted in the conclusion that the most common reason for using social services is dependent on the care from others, and that activation activities seniors perceive as a positive factor in the adaptation process.
