- ItemRole WTO při řešení mezinárodních obchodních sporů(Technická Univerzita v Liberci, 2011) Kudrnová, Hana; Lungová, MiroslavaThis thesis deals with the WTO dispute settlement mechanism which is an important part of this organization. WTO highlights the speed of the dispute settlement process but this work shows that the average length of the dispute resolving in which the European Union participated between 1995 and 2010 was much longer than 15 months, the time the WTO considered normal for dispute resolving. The thesis also analyzes the impact of the sugar reform which the EU had to implement in 2006 as a result of the lost case with Australia, Brazil and Thailand. The reform was about subsidies for sugar. The reform had a significant impact on sugar production and export of all concerned. The reform also had an impact on the Czech Republic which is a traditional producer of white sugar. Following the reform the Czech Republic?s quota for sugar production was decreased thereby reducing production and export of sugar. Several sugar mills ceased its activities and the number of sugar beet growers was limited. The reform also had an impact on the Czech distillery.
- ItemVliv globalizace na ekonomiku rozvojových zemí(Technická Univerzita v Liberci, 2008) Kudrnová, Hana; Kučerová, LudmilaWork describes how the globalisation could effect on economics and also inhabitants of developing countries. The globalisation is today´s phenomenon and it touches everybody. It expresses itself differently in countries of the ``Global North{\crqq} and countries of the ``Global South{\crqq}. Countries of the Global South are in more difficult situation because they have to solve problems as famine, poverty and diseases. There are more vulnerable to external negative impacts and they face up to them hardly. Therefore it is no wonder that some developing countries defend from opening their borders although international organisation promise that it will improve their economic situation. Asian ``tigers{\crqq} have already participated in international trade and their economic growth has risen. But economic growth rate does not show how many inhabitants live bellow poverty line. Each country has its specific features and no universal process can be used during implementing liberalisation. If developing strategies wanted to be successful they will have to be made-to-measure to each economics. Combination of reasonable developing strategy that respects local conditions, progressive approach of single developing countries and cooperation between developing and developed countries could help developing countries to integration and to leave vicious circle of misery.
