    The bachelor thesis considers the evolution of labour and concentration camps in Soviet Union since its beginning until its end. The purpose is to present a general analysis of structure, progress of concentration camps and explicate the history of system of the camps, historical situation at process time, life and work in camps. The set target of work has been achieved.The first part of thesis treat about beginning of labour camps in Soviet Union and its historical background. It describes beginning of the first camp in Solovetsky Island and beginning of Stalin?s government, which really influenced the development of Gulag. The second part describes mechanism of all units in camps, which every prisoner had to go through, starting with being arrested until its life in camps. The last part treat about progress of camps during the second world war, after, death of Stalin and line of his successors who reorganized all units of gulag which led to the end of concentration camps and subsequently end of Soviet Union.
