    Rozšiřování aktivní slovní zásoby v hodinách anglického jazyka

    This diploma thesis deals with extension of active vocabulary of the pupils in the lessons of English language at the second grade of basic school. In accordance with the methodological literature the diploma thesis suggests and tests a method of active vocabulary teaching that uses theorethical knowledge of memory processes taking place during vocabulary teaching. The method is based on the gradual improvement of quality of knowledge with the help of a sequence of activities designed for: vocabulary presentation, practice and vocabulary retrieval.The activities used during the practical aplication of the project were designed according to theorethical principles described in literature. The following means of evaluation were used for assessment of the project: test of active vocabulary, reflections on the lessons and observations, the pupils´ opinions, the leading teachers´ opinions and observations. The practical aplication of the project proved usability of the designed method in practice.
