    Currently each production company efforts are to maintain stock stores restrictions and that way keep storage costs at their lowest. Only those enterprises which are able to offer high quality products at low prices may succeed in today´s rough competition. Stock reserves reduction results in decrease of company´s finances blocked in reserves. This sort of finance is not profitable. Therefore, it is quite evident that even a slight decrease in stores may represent a considerable economic effect. In my diploma work I have focused firstly on unification of theoretical basis of reserves management, secondly on current state description of the application of overhead reserves standardization process at Skoda Auto. Subsequently, in the view of proper and effective reserve management, I tried to provide recommendation how to remove some potential insufficiencies in this spfere. Both for my survey reasons and for gaining objective information I decided to consult the issues with responsible employees from Skoda Auto specialized departments. The information gained in this survey has proved my initial idea that current level of overhead reserves management at Skoda Auto is rather poor. That is why I mean that in this aspect it is essential to initiate certain changes, especially in the sphere of the abovementioned stock reserves management.
