    Drogy a mládež v Libereckém kraji

    Bachelor thesis deals with the problems of narcotic and psychotropic substances and their use by young people aged fourteen to sixteen in the region of Liberec. Its aim is to clarify the problems of drugs and find out how many respondents had personal experience with addictive drugs. The thesis consists of two parts. The theoretical part deals with basic terminology that relates to the issue of addictive drugs, explains the basic types of drugs and the addictions. It is briefly devoted to developmental stages of adolescence. The practical part ascertained, through the use of questionnaires, experiences with narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances of questioned pupils. These questionnaires were distributed to one hundred fourteen to sixteen year old pupils at two elementary schools, two practical elementary schools and one eight-year grammar school. The results showed that the most frequently used addictive drug is alcohol, then tobacco cigarettes, at third place is cannabis. The findings resulted in the measure proposed steps for prevention in which is involved the whole society, and the proposed legislative measures. The greatest contribution of the theses can be considered a finding that despite prevention programs conducted by schools the drug problem occurs among young people, especially in drinking alcoholic beverages. Almost half of interviewed drank alcohol during family celebrations.
