    Soukromé zdravotní pojištění v České republice a ve vybraných zemích

    Diploma thesis on "Private health insurance in the Czech Republic and in selected countries" describes health care systems and their financing. The first part gives characteristics of health care systems in general, and in other chapters it deals with specific forms of health insurance in the Czech Republic and the United States of America. The main part focuses at public and private health insurance in the Czech Republic, current reforms and problems in the health insurance. Next, health insurance in the United States is characterized; strengths and weaknesses of their system are mentioned as well as methods of payment for health care and health care reform itself. The aim is to find out whether a state dominated with the private health insurance has less burdened by the state budget. A sub-goal is to evaluate the effect which has the selected method of health care financing on the health of the population. The thesis compares the economic and health indicators of each country and using statistical data the dependency analysis is performed. The conclusion evaluates methods of health care financing, with their pros and cons.
