- ItemDevelopment and application of spatial carrier interferometry for whole field real-time investigation of temperatures in liquid media(2019) Psota, Pavel; Dančová, Petra; Cubreli, Gramoz; Lédl, Vít; Vít, Tomáš; Doleček, Roman; Matoušek, OndřejThis paper presents interferometric measurement of dynamic phenomena in transparent media. The method is based on differential spatial carrier interferometry that provides interesting features for experimental fluid mechanics. The method is particularly suitable for progressively changing phenomena. Temperature is automatically evaluated from a single interferogram, and a differential approach allows to decrease dynamic range of the measurement. As a consequence, in case of high temporal sampling of the phenomena, no spatial phase unwrapping is needed. Otherwise, the spatial unwrapping is performed on low fringe density phase maps and the fringe order is unambiguously determined. The interferometric method was experimentally tested by measuring dynamically varying temperature fields in water. The inspected phenomenon was a convection of water layers within a glass tank, where a heat sink was positioned at the bottom of the tank. Interferometric and temperature measurements were simultaneously conducted. Temperature was measured using four thermocouples to verify the reliability of the method. Results of both approaches are in a good agreement.
- ItemNoise suppression in curved glass shells using macro-fiber-composite actuators studied by the means of digital holography and acoustic measurements(Amer Inst Physics, 2015) Mokrý, Pavel; Psota, Pavel; Steiger, Kateřina; Václavík, Jan; Doleček, Roman; Lédl, Vít; Šulc, MiroslavThe paper presents methods and experimental results of the semi-active control of noise transmission in a curved glass shell with attached piezoelectric macro fiber composite (MFC) actuators. The semi-active noise control is achieved via active elasticity control of piezoelectric actuators by connecting them to an active electric shunt circuit that has a negative effective capacitance. Using this approach, it is possible to suppress the vibration of the glass shell in the normal direction with respect to its surface and to increase the acoustic transmission loss of the piezoelectric MFC-glass composite structure. The effect of the MFC actuators connected to the negative capacitance shunt circuit on the surface distribution of the normal vibration amplitude is studied using frequency-shifted digital holography (FSDH). The principle of the used FSDH method is described in the paper. The frequency dependence of the acoustic transmission loss through the piezoelectric MFC-glass composite structure is estimated using measurements of the specific acoustic impedance of the curved glass shell. The specific acoustic impedance is measured using two microphones and a laser Doppler vibrometer (LDV). The results from the LDV measurements are compared with the FSDH data. The results of the experiments show that using this approach, the acoustic transmission loss in a glass shell can be increased by 36 dB in the frequency range around 247 Hz and by 25 dB in the frequency range around 258 Hz. The experiments indicate that FSDH measurements provide an efficient tool that can be used for fast and accurate measurements of the acoustic transmission loss in large planar structures. - ItemPixel-wise Amplitude Distribution Evaluation in Time Average Digital Holography(IOP PUBLISHING LTD, 2019-12) Psota, Pavel; Lédl, Vít; Matoušek, Ondřej; Doleček, Roman; Kredba, JanThis article introduces a new holographic method for harmonic vibration measurement. The method called time average sweeping digital holography (TASDH) is based on the continuous shift of fringe pattern described by Bessel function over the object surface. The shift is done by phase modulation in one arm of holographic interferometer. Such temporal phase sweeping allows for evaluation of the vibration amplitude value independently in each pixel by application of intensity values cross-correlation of steady state and oscillating object. Main advantage of proposed technique with respect to other methods of digital holographic vibration is its ability to measure the amplitude of vibration without the risk of interference order mismatch. Thanks to above mentioned properties, the method allows measurement of amplitude modes with high slopes or discontinuous surfaces as well as partially shaded objects. The method was experimentally tested by measuring the bending beam cantilever. The standard deviation of the measured noise is below nanometer.
