    The goal of the theoretical portion was to illustrate the issues regarding deprivation factors of individuals placed in institutional care. The practical portion was focused on sample analyses of child age, from what environment the clients came, their origin, concrete reason for placement, and last but not least, the verification of stated assumptions.

    This bachelor thesis deals with problems of drugs and their use in our community. It is divided into several chapters, most of which are devoted to theoretical interpretation and a final chapter which presents my own research. In the theoretical part, I tried to describe the history of drugs and explain the concept of a drug itself. The next part of my bachelor thesis describes both legal and illegal drugs and their effects on the human body. In the further section, I focused on the problem of addiction to drugs and its causes. Another important chapter of the thesis is targeted on the prevention of drug abuse. The end of the theoretical part deals with institutions and associations that offer assistance to drug addicts. The aim of the research was to find out to what extent students in Šluknov Area have experience with drugs and related problems of their abuse.
