Abstract
Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou výuky českých studentů anglického jazyka redukovaným a neredukovaným formám anglických gramatických slov. Součástí práce je hloubkový rozhovor s PhDr. Dušanem Melenem, Ph.D., lingvistou a učitelem anglického jazyka, zaměřující se na jeho názory ohledně zařazení redukovaných forem gramatických slov do výuky anglického jazyka pro české studenty. Názory odborníků z oblasti výuky anglického jazyka a čtyř učitelů angličtiny ze základních škol v České Lípě a střední školy v Mimoni byly porovnány s názory doktora Melena. Jedním z cílů bakalářské práce je také zjistit, jaké informace je ještě možné vyčíst z výsledků diagnostického testu. Tento test byl provedený mezi studenty předmětu Fonetiky a fonologie v průběhu jejich bakalářského studia na Přírodovědně-humanitní a pedagogické fakultě Technické univerzity v Liberci. Obsah diagnostického testu je zaměřen na poslechové dovednosti a schopnost užití redukovaných forem v mluvené formě anglického jazyka. Cílem výzkumu bylo zhodnotit dovednosti studentů v rozlišování redukovaných a neredukovaných forem a ověřit schopnosti studentů k použití těchto forem v mluveném projevu. Výsledky diagnostického testu ukazují na výhody začlenění výuky redukovaných forem do výuky angličtiny pro české studenty. Na základě získaných dat, rozhovorů a výsledků diagnostického testu byly v závěru práce nastíněny návrhy na způsoby implementace redukovaných forem do výuky angličtiny.
The topic of this bachelor's thesis is teaching weak and strong forms of English grammatical words to Czech learners of English. An in-depth interview with PhDr. Dušan Melen, Ph.D., a linguist and a teacher of English, was conducted regarding his views about the teaching of weak forms to native speakers of Czech. The opinions of experts in teaching English and four teachers from my primary school in Česká Lípa and the secondary school in Mimoň about teaching the weak forms were connected to Melen's statements. The thesis is trying to ascertain how much information can be gained regarding the students understanding of weak forms using the online diagnostic test. I carried out a diagnostic test on the students of a phonetics and phonology course in the undergraduate programme at the Faculty of Science, Humanities and Education at the Technical University of Liberec. The content of the diagnostic test focused on collecting data regarding the abilities of the students at listening comprehension as well as their use of the weak forms in spoken English. The aim of the research is, therefore, to illustrate how well students are able to recognize the difference between weak and strong forms. It illustrates whether these particular students of English are capable of using those forms correctly. The results demonstrated the advantages of teaching the weak and strong forms to Czech EFL learners. Based on research data, that is, the interview, the results of the test, and the survey, suggestions for teaching weak forms were made.
