Abstract
Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problémy ve výslovnosti českých studentů anglického jazyka. Nejčastější chyby ve výslovnosti samohlásek, které studenti dělají, byly v této práci popsány. Otázka výslovnosti byla také konzultována s PhDr. Dušanem Melenem Ph.D. v online psaném dotazníku a problémy s výslovností byly spojeny s možnými příčinami nedostatečné rozlišovací schopnosti a nedostatek cvičení zaměřených na výslovnost v často využívaných učebnicích. Obě tyto možné příčiny byly blíže zkoumány. Rozlišovací schopnosti studentů byly testovány pomocí diagnostického testu a byl proveden výzkum čtrnácti učebnic anglického jazyka. Výsledky provedeného výzkumu by mohly vést k lepšímu pochopení problémů s výslovností, které studenti mívají. Jako produkt této práce byla vytvořena demonstrační hodina, která se zaměřuje na foném /?/. Tato práce má čtyři hlavní cíle: navržení možných příčin problémů s výslovností pro české studenty angliského jazyka založené na odpovědích Dušana Melena; přiblížení procesu tvorby diagnostického testu a demostrační hodiny; analýza výsledků výzkumu a představení možností jak využít zvukové materiály pro zlepšení výslovnosti studentů anglického jazyka.
The topic of this bachelor's thesis is pronunciation problems for the Czech learners of the English language. The most common vowel production related mistakes made by the learners of English language were introduced in this thesis. The pronunciation issues were also discussed with PhDr. Dušan Melen Ph.D. in an online written interview and associated with hypothetical causes students' insufficient discriminatory skills and a lack of pronunciation based exercises in frequently used coursebooks. Both these hypothetical causes were closely examined. Students' discriminatory skills were tested via a diagnostic test and a research of fourteen English language coursebooks was carried out. The findings of the research I conducted might result in a better understanding of the pronunciation problems of the students. As a product of this thesis, a demonstrative lesson dealing with the phoneme /?/ has been created. The aim of the thesis is fourfold: to suggest possible causes of pronunciation issues of Czech EFL learners based on the interview with Melen; to illustrate the process of creating the diagnostic test and the demonstrative lesson; to analyse the results of the research carried out and to suggest how to use audio materials to improve the students' pronunciation.
