Abstract
Cílem této bakalářské práce je popsat a zhodnotit život a dílo libereckého malíře a grafika Jaro Berana (1892-1962). Práce je pojata chronologicky na pozadí historických událostí, přičemž závěrečná kapitola se věnuje uměleckohistorickému zhodnocení jeho díla. Jaro Beran je důležitý pro dějiny umění především jako tvůrce ex libris. Nezanedbatelnou součástí umělcova díla tvoří práce, kde zachycoval podobu starého Liberce. Věnoval se tvorbě grafických listů v technikách dřevořezu a leptu, menší částí kresbě a olejomalbě. Pro samotný Liberec je stěžejní jeho působení v liberecké galerie v letech 1945 až 1958, kdy spoluvytvářel kulturní život města. Důležitou součástí práce je zhotovení seznamu prací Jaro Berana uložených v paměťových institucích Libereckého kraje, který je součástí příloh. Práci rovněž doplňuje obrazová dokumentace z umělcova života.
The aim of bachelor´s thesis is to describe and evaluate the life and work of the Liberec painter and graphic artist Jaro Beran (1892-1962). The thesis is conceived chronologically against the background of historical events, while the final chapter deals with the artistic-historical evaluation of his work. Jaro Beran is an important person for the history of art, primarily such an creator of ex libris. An important part of the artist's life is work, where he depicted the image of old Liberec. He paied atention to the creation of engraving in woodblock and etching techniques, also he interested in the drawing and oil painting. From 1945 until 1958 Jaro Beran worked in the Liberec Gallery, when he cocreated the cultural life of the city. The original part of the thesis is the list of Beran´s works, which are placed in the memory institutions of the Liberec region. Moreover the bachelor thesis is added the pictorial documentation from the artist's life.
