    This thesis studies environmental education and education for sustainable development at the 2nd level of primary school. The work analyses particular methods of environmental education and describes implementation and evaluation of the programme "Explorers". The goals of the programme "Explorers" lie in the field of environmental education and education for sustainable development. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part describes goals and bases of environmental education and education for sustainable development. The theoretical part analyses the methodology of environmental education which is based on solving of environmental issues. This methodology is a theoretical framework for the environmental program "Explorers", which is the main subject of the practical part of this work. The practical part describes and evaluates the programme "Explorers" at the second level of Kaplického primary school in Liberec. The program investigates the issue of graffiti and it is focused on the relationship between students and their environment. The model of this program is assessed according its suitability for the second level of primary schools in the Czech republic.
