    This research focuses on the topis of psychological deprivation in childhood. It is based mainly on studies by Z. Matějček, J. Langmeier and other Czech specialists. A goal of the research was to identify what signs of psychologically deprived children come through earlier than the other ones. The research consists of two main parts: theory and application. The chapter on theory describes exhibition of psychological deprivation and also possible consequences of such experience. The researched is extended into application of the theory throughout observation of children that mihgt go through psychological deprivation or subdeprivation. Two methods were used to conduct hte applied research: long term observation and qualitative analysis of casuistry. The researched sample consisted of twelve deprived children attending special department of a kindergarten. The research pointed out the most common signs of psychological deprivation. The collected data can help to timely identification of the problem in preschool age children, what would enable timely and effective cure.
