PhDr. Bohumil Stejskal, CSc. Resume: This bachelor thesis dealt with issues of home-care service for seniors provided with houses of special purpose in Smržovka. The goal of the study was to determine the views of clients on the level of provided home-care service and describe the changes which were added with a new Act No. 108/2006 Coll., about social services. The structure of the work consisted of two key parts, the theoretical and the practical. The theoretical part was based on expert resources and described the concepts associated with aging, seniors and social services for seniors in general. The practical part examined the opinions of seniors on the level of provided care in the houses of special purpose and compared them with local institutional care. Data were collected using an interview method. The sample of respondents consisted of 15 seniors living in the special houses with home-care service in Smržovka. The results showed that the structure and methods of services provided with the houses with a home-care service in Smržovka meets the requirements of respondents and found out that respondents preferred the care provided at home against the comprehensive care in an institutional care. The seniors proved that the time which is reserved for home-care service is insufficient in comparison with their own needs. At the end of the work were proposed measures to extend the period and the time reserved for home-care service and to change the name of the organization, which does not appropriately reflect provided activities. The best achievement was finding that certain needs of the seniors were different from the ideas of the organization.
