    The bachelor work dealing with the problem of juvenile delinquency considers this to be a serious social issue, which requires special attention. Its goal was to determine which factors bring the highest risk for the criminality of children and young people. The thesis comprieses two vital components. The first one is a theoretical part, which is based on the work with expert sources, and which describes the essential factors and influences that affect children and adolescents: the family, the school, the peer group, drug abuse, the media effect, and the CAN syndrome.The practical part discovers, with the help of a research method, which risk factors led to the criminal behaviour or some concrete young people.The respondents were juvenile deliquents from youth detention centres in the Liberecký and Ústecký regions.The results, which suggest that most of the delinquents come from dysfunctional families, have been used to propose certain measures, particulary of the Precautionary Principle.
