Goal of this paper is the proposal and definition of a functional model of heat sources suitable for the welding method which is used in welding of corner joint weld, a certified by simulation calculation and comparison of results with the real weld made in the laboratory. As a basis for the defining parameters of the model of source of the heat was on the basis of geometric analysis conducted weld built mathematical definition. This definition allows to predict the geometrical shape of the weld size a4 by CSN EN 29629, carried out on materials 11373 with protective gas EUROMIX \regm{} M21, depending on welding speed.
