    The bachelor work deals with the characteristic and the problems of the preparatory classes of primary schools in the educational system in the Czech Republic. The main object was to compile the set of appropriate work methods in the preparatory classes. These methods should develop weakened competences of the socially and culturally disadvantaged pre-school children. The compilation was formed on the basis of the research, which took place in five preparatory classes at standard primary schools in the Czech Republic. The work has two mainstay parts. The theoretical part defines the status of the preparatory classes both according to pedagogical and legislative aspects. The theoretical part was done on the basis of various professional sources. In practical part the knowledge of the sample of children who go to preparatory classes this year was surveyed by using approximate special pedagogical research. The result of the research confirmed the specified assumptions and on their basis suitable methods for children from socially and culturally disadvantaged background were set. The creation of the methods and games compilation focused on the practising the basic skills, which are necessary for successful start in the first class, is considered to be the biggest contribution of the work.
