    Geopolitické postavení Turecka mezi východem a západem

    This work is focused on geopolitical implications, which determine the role of the Turkish Republic in a frame of Middle East and its potential for the European Union. The work is inspired by the recent aspiration of Turkey to become an EU member and also analyzes the reasons why the accesion negotiations came to the dreadlock. In the conclusion there are defined aspects of the free alternatives, which were concidered untill now and which would bring an appropriate solution for the legal embedment of the ralation between EU and Turkey. These alternatives are full accession, none accesion or privileged partnership.
