The paper analyses state trials with women
sentenced in 1953 and 1954 by Regional Court in Liberec. From the total of fortytwo court cases with women four were chosen because of their specific nature
characteristic for that period.
The first part of the paper analyses the “Antonín Urban and comp.“ case and
related trials with two women – Elfrýda Geigerová and Alžběta Šebová. The
second part of the paper is focused on the fates of three wives of farmers from
Kluky action (harassing action of the Liberec StB), who were tried in the course
of the “Josefa Nečadová and comp.“ trials. The third analyzed matter is the trial
of “Otakar Vrbenský and comp.“ with Semily treasonous organization. Two
women were tried, Hana Krsková and Jiřina Hartigová. The last part analyses the
trial of Elvíra Tandlerová, a German, who was recruited as an informant by the
intelligence service after her illegal departure from Czechoslovakia.
